VFC Announces Partnership with Mouvement des accélérateurs d’innovation du Québec (MAIN)
Venture for Canada (VFC) announced a new partnership with Mouvement des accélérateurs d’innovation du Québec (MAIN) a non-profit organization for their second annual Accelerator Summit (Sommet des accélérateurs) a gathering of various organizations that support entrepreneurs and accelerators in Quebec.
MAIN’s mission is to improve the cohesion and efficiency of the business incubator and accelerator ecosystem in Quebec and to increase its impact on developing Quebec’s entrepreneurship and innovation. “Venture for Canada is very excited to expand our impact to Quebec in 2021. Our partnership with MAIN is an exciting starting point to contribute to Quebec’s fast-growing startup ecosystems,” said Scott Stirrett, Founder and CEO of Venture for Canada. “Our two organizations value knowledge-sharing. We both see a lot of the value in building dynamic collaborations, and this partnership is ripe with opportunities,” said Juanita Lee-Garcia, Senior Manager of Strategic Partnerships and Social Impact concludes.
VFC will be hosting and sponsoring the conversation Accès au talent: un enjeu pour la croissance des startups (Access to talent: a challenge for the growth of startups) on the importance of accessing the entrepreneurial talent and access to driven young Canadians on February 3rd between 9:30 AM and 11 AM ET. The Summit is an opportunity to observe and assess organizations, corporations and other stakeholders and their roles within the ecosystem, to learn from best practices and adopt common orientations to better support and propel startups in Quebec. Other sessions on access to financing, collaboration with larger corporations, ongoing support offered to startups, and scaling will be hosted from Thursday, January 28th, 2021, until February 11, 2021.
The 2021 Summit will culminate in producing an acceleration roadmap, the axes of which shall help increase Quebec’s startup potential tenfold. “The Sommet des accélérateurs is a unique opportunity to actively engage with leaders of the Quebec startup ecosystem. By bringing concrete solutions and their wealth of experience to the table, Venture for Canada will help fuel the discussion on how we can ensure startups in Quebec have access to the talent to support their growth,” said MAIN’s Lead for Networks & Communities, Joyce McLean.
This partnership is part of the thoughtful efforts Venture for Canada has made in the last year to expand its Fellowship and Internship programs to Quebec. “Ecosystems thrive on connections and startups know no boundaries. So, we welcome every opportunity we have to connect the resources, knowledge and best practices that Venture for Canada has developed with our broad network of organizations supporting startups across Québec. Collaborating makes us all richer,” added Louis-Félix Binette, Executive Director at MAIN.
Le Sommet des accélérateurs is supported by the Ministry of Economy and Innovation of Quebec. To learn more about tickets and attendance, please visit MAIN’s website
