Venture for Canada partners with CEWIL Canada

Venture for Canada is delighted to announce their recent partnership with Co-operative Education and Work-Integrated Learning Canada (CEWIL Canada).

Like Venture for Canada, CEWIL Canada is a national organization that champions work-integrated learning (WIL) by partnering with post-secondary institutions, community groups, employers, government, and students.

CEWIL also collaborates with and supports the initiatives of other delivery agents outside of post-secondary institutions, such as Venture for Canada’s newly relaunched Intrapreneurship Program.

“CEWIL Canada has been leader in the WIL space for decades; their resources, community and national standards have tremendously impacted the sector for students, Canadian businesses and university practitioners,” said Scott Stirrett, Venture for Canada’s Founder and CEO. “We’re so excited to be partnering and expanding VFC’s reach through CEWIL.”

CEWIL’s 15,400+ members represent thousands of co-op and work-integrated learning students at 120 post-secondary institutions, plus a community of WIL practitioners, organizations, and industry partners who support the recruitment of post-secondary students.

“Developing an entrepreneurial mindset in post-secondary students through WIL is key factor in continuing to develop start-up culture in Canada,” said Charlene Marion, Director, CEWIL Canada. “We are thrilled to partner with Venture for Canada to continue to build capacity and quality entrepreneurial WILwork experiences for our students.

“Partnerships are essential to achieving sustainable systems change,” said Gina Patterson, Venture for Canada’s Chief Programs Officers. “By partnering with organizations like CEWIL, we integrate with the national conversation, and expand our impact on young people through new opportunities.”

As a catalyst of entrepreneurial work-integrated learning, VFC is always seeking new opportunities to accelerate the impact of Canada’s future leaders, and we can’t do it alone. Working with CEWIL is an exciting opportunity to be part of the national conversation, and create sustainable programming to help Canadian post-secondary students find meaningful work during and after school.

CEWIL Boilerplate

CEWIL Canada’s mission is to build the capacity to develop future-ready students and graduates through quality work-integrated learning. Since 1973, CEWIL Canada members from post-secondary institutions across the country have worked in partnership to develop resources to promote the highest quality of post-secondary work-integrated learning programs. This is achieved through a national forum of professional WIL practitioners by establishing national standards and promoting the value of post-secondary work-integrated learning and by delivering opportunities for learning and sharing of best practices.
