Venture for Canada (VFC) is excited to announce the launch of applications for its 8th Fellowship Cohort.
The Fellowship Program supports recent post-secondary grads and startups across Canada. The program is designed for ambitious, curious graduates looking to invest in the training, support and network they need to successfully launch their entrepreneurial careers.
In 2022 the Fellowship Program will offer an expanded training stemming from the renowned European Commission’s EntreComp Framework, and job support program, including individualized job search coaching, job-readiness training, access to Fellow Alumni mentorship, direct connections to VFC’s growing network of startups across Canada through networking events and introductions, a job board with the latest jobs and access to a monthly speaker series featuring Canadian leaders like John Stackhouse, Irfhan Rawji and Tabatha Bull.
2022 Fellows will return to Venture for Canada’s flagship three-week Training Camp in Kingston, Ontario, hosted in collaboration with the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University.
Additionally, through the Fellowship, VFC connects startups across Canada with ambitious, entrepreneurial entry-level talent. In 2021, Venture for Canada has already partnered with over 108 startups to enhance their hiring practices, talent pool, and pipeline. 8 out of 10 partners would recommend the VFC Fellowship to another startup.
“As Canada recovers from the pandemic, it is more important than ever for young Canadians to develop entrepreneurial skills in order to rebuild the economy and address Canada’s most pressing challenges,” said Scott Stirrett, Founder and CEO of Venture for Canada.”
Are you feeling unmotivated? Get into the practice of journaling: h2
One of my close friends began life coaching at the beginning of the pandemic. I decided to reach out to her for advice on life as I felt a bit stuck at work. In a conversation with her, she recommended I try to start my day with journaling as a way to focus my mind and set my intentions for the day. When I journal, I use two prompts, courtesy of my friend.
- The first is “10 Things I am Grateful For,”
- and the second is “I am feeling…” where I am promoted to complete the sentence.
- I love these prompts as expressing gratitude first thing in the morning really helps frame a positive mindset while acknowledging how you’re feeling, even if it is “tired” or “sad” or “unmotivated,” allows you to give yourself the necessary space to have this emotion and then DO something about it and shift the mindset.
Pullquote: “The Fellowship Program has an established track record of helping recent graduates launch their careers through entrepreneurial work experiences, training, and community support, and we are excited about the opportunities for the future 2022 cohort.”
Are you seeking mental clarity? Exercise!: h1
There were many days throughout the pandemic that I felt exhausted in the morning. And often felt like my mind was in a different place. My boss gave me the advice to try working out in the morning as a remedy, and it honestly works wonders. High-intensity cardio-focused workouts help me get energized first thing in the morning and fuel me to keep going throughout the day. Some of my favourite free workout options are the Nike Training Club app, PopSugar Fitness and other YouTube channels or merely going on a run.
